I explore the struggles and growth of millennials living through a
time of rapid change, where the analog and digital worlds constantly
overlap.

My persona, SIREN94, combines the Sirens from Greek mythology—the origin of the word “siren,” meaning an alarm or warning signal—with the year I was born, 1994. It represents the modern self, always sensing signs of change, while carrying both anxiety and hope at the same time.

The characters in my work have an unbalanced form, as if the thoughts and emotions inside their heads have grown faster than their bodies. To me, this reflects who we are now: still growing, still learning how to carry the pressure, uncertainty, and expectations of the future.

I believe that this unresolved imperfection is also an important part of life. Through my work, I hope to offer viewers a small sense of comfort—that it’s okay to be exactly where you are right now.
