“What are we being consumed by?”

GNAW is a dark fantasy art toy project that explores hidden truths and distorted emotions through masked beings. The name “GNAW,” meaning “to wear away” or “to gnaw,” refers to a force that may be invisible but gradually erodes something over time.

The mask represents the social self, while the body beneath symbolizes an unchanging essence. Although every person possesses their own spectrum of emotions, those feelings cannot always be fully expressed within different situations and relationships.

Through the motif of the mask, GNAW gives form to emotional states that have been suppressed, distorted, exaggerated, or broken down, translating them into sculptural expressions.
